Results: Biwott wins overall, Keitany repeats as women’s winner in NYC

Marathon results

Stanley Biwott (2:10:34) won the world’s largest marathon, besting more than 50,000 runners in the 45 annual TCS New York City Marathon.
He finished fifth in 2013.
Starting in Staten Island, the course crosses into Brooklyn, working its way to Queens and across the East River’s Roosevelt Island into Manhattan and onward to the Bronx before heading back to Manhattan, ending in Central Park.
Geoffery Kamworor (2:10:48) finished just behind Biwott in second.
Last year’s runner-up Lelisa Desisa rounded out the top three with a time of 2:12:10.


For the women, it was Mary Keitany (2:24:25) defending her title with a time of 2:24:25.
She finished third in 2010 and 2011.
Earning runner-up honors was Aselefech Mergia at 2:25:32.
Tigist Tufa (2:25:50) finished just seconds ahead of Sara Moreira (2:25:53) for third.
Moreira finished in the three spot a year ago.
