Thierry Guibault (2:26:41) cut two minutes from his winning time a year ago to defended his title in the Marathon du Medoc in Pauillac, France. More than 7,500 runners, the majority of which were in costume, came out for the vineyard winding race that replaces water stops with wine tasting and tradition snacks with proper pairings. Antoine de Wilde took home second with a time of 2:28:45. Last year’s runner-up David Antoine (2:29:32) dropped a spot, despite cutting seven minutes from his 2014 time.
