Paul Kimaiyo Kimugul (1:35:16) outpaced more than 5,200 participants to defend his title for a second consecutive year in North America’s oldest road race.
Canada’s Around the Bay 30K Road Race held in Hamilton, Ontario dates back to 1894.
Daniel Kipkoech (1:37:22) repeated as runner-up, despite finishing almost three minutes slower than a year ago.
In a tight race for third, Trevor Zimak (1:40:06) topped Sami Jibril (1:40:26).
It was Jibril’s second straight fourth-place finish.

For the women, it was Risper Gesabwa (1:47:37) coming in just ahead of Krista Duchene (1:47:47) for first.
Duchene won the event in 2014 with a similar time.
Jane Murage took third in this year’s race with a time of 1:50:54.
