Allister Knox (2:51:45) came in over half an hour ahead of the field to win the Kaua’i Marathon in Poipu, Hawaii.
He was the first Hawaiian to win the event in its seven years.
Tim Price (3:23:20) took second in the race which earned recent Bucket List honors from Runner’s World for its rainforest, volcano and ocean views.
Derrick Ledesma (3:24:52) held off Renato Desouza (3:25:04) for third.
Ledesma finished fifth a year ago and sixth in 2013.
For the women, it was Sabina Piras taking the top spot with a time of 3:06:36.
She finished fifth in 2012.
Last year’s winner Nicole Chyr (3:10:00) came in almost 20 minutes ahead of Brooke Sugahara (3:29:07) for second.
Chyr also won it in 2013.
Sugahara finished third in the half marathon a year ago.

Tyler McCandless (1:12:35) came in just a few ticks under 10 minutes ahead of Shun Suzuki (1:22:31) to defend his title in the Kaua’i Half Marathon.
More than 1,100 runners took part in the main event.
Martin Anders (1:24:49) rounded out the top three with a time of 1:24:49.

For the women, it was Lauren Tippets (1:28:29) defending her title for a second straight year.
She was the only runner to come in under an hour and a half.
Jackie Reding (1:36:42) finished just six seconds ahead of Jaime Ross (1:36:48) for second.
Reding finished fourth a year ago.
Third in 2013.
