Birhanu Legese (1:00:40) barely beat out Stanley Biwott (1:00:40) to win the 10th annual RAK Half Marathon in Ras Al Khaimahof the United Arab Emirates. Almost 3,000 runners completed the course. Nguse Amlosom and Abraham Cheroben tied for third with a time of 1:00:41, just edging Edwin Kipyego (1:00:45) and Simon Cheprot (1:00:46). For the women, it was Cynthia Limo (1:06:04) legging out a similarly close one at the top with Gladys Cherono (1:06:07). Limo finished third a year ago. Both set personal bests in this year race and moved up the world’s all-time list to third and fourth, respectively. Genet Yalew took third with a time of 1:06:26.
