Mario Macias (2:24:21) made it in ahead of almost 700 runners to win the 5th Baylor Scott and White BCS Marathon in College Station, Texas.
A rainy day didn’t stop participants like runner-up David Chepkwony (2:25:44) from completing the USATF certified, Boston Marathon qualifier, which worked its way through the Texas A&M University campus.
Last year’s half marathon winner Abraham Rutto (2:46:22) rounded out the top three.
He took second in the full in 2013.
For the women, it was Jane Rotich (2:57:17) taking the top spot.
Meggan Franks finished second with a time of 2:58:58.
Third-place finisher Randi Burnett (2:59:38) was the only other runner to finish under three hours.
The trio finished, fifth, seventh and ninth overall, respectively.
Henry Lelei (1:06:49.9) held off close to 2,000 runners to win the BCS Half Marathon for the second time in three years.
He cut more than three minutes from his third-place finish a year ago.
In a tight race for second, Eliud Ngetich (1:07:13.2) edged Will Naton (1:07:41.3).
For the women, it was Hillary Montgomery cutting more than four minutes from her 2014 time to defend her title.
Her mark of 1:12:57.2 was good for sixth overall.
Finishing ninth was runner-up Allison Macsas (1:17:32.4).
Megan Saloom came in a close third at 1:18:19.6.
