Julius Chepkwony Rotich (2:11:08) outran more than 6,600 runners to win the 30th annual Venice Marathon in Veneto, Italy.
The race starts in Stra, roughly 25 miles outside of Venice, following the Riviera del Brenta towards the city, ending waterside at the Riva Sette Martiri.
Runner-up Robert Ndiwa finished with a time of 2:13:16.
In a tight race for third, Emmanuel Sikuku (2:15:22) managed to hold off Domenico Ricatti (2:15:28).
Ricatti also finished fourth in 2012.

For the women, it was Ehite B. Gebireyes (2:35:19) coming in just steps ahead of Derbe Godana Gebissa (2:35:21) for first.
Caroline J. Chepkwony (2:35:49) claimed third with a time of 2:35:49.
