Last year’s half marathon winner Logan Sherman (2:27:28) came in well ahead of a field of more than 2,700 runners to take the 45th Dallas Marathon in Texas. The USATF certified event is the largest and oldest in the state. Runner-up Ryan Siler (2:43:57) finished just ahead of Luis Rojas (2:44:13). Rojas took 10th a year ago.

For the women, it was Jamie Vest (2:58:31) claiming victory. She was the only runner to finish under three hours. Sara Ibbetson secured second with a time of 3:01:54. Sixty-year-old Christine Kennedy (3:05:13) rounded out the top three.

The only participant to average under five minutes per mile, Gabe Proctor (1:05:09) outpaced close to 6,200 runners to win the Dallas Half Marathon. Colby Mehmen earned runner-up honors with a time of 1:08:56. Finishing third was Gabriel Zambrano at 1:11:49.

For the women, it was Dawn Grunnagle (1:19:29) taking the top spot. Not too far off in second was Destiny Garza with a time of 1:22:26, In a tight race for third, Natalie Merrill (1:26:33) managed to hold off Kristin Garcia (1:26:38). Merrill finished eighth in 2012. Fifth in 2011.
