(Dec. 30, 2014) – Epic Tahoe Adventures (“ETA”) and the new Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe are thrilled to present the inaugural Rock Tahoe Half Marathon on Saturday, June 20, 2015! Focusing on providing events for the recreationally engaged weekend warriors that like to work hard and play even harder, ETA is excited to partner with the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe to present this one of a kind event in Tahoe South. Runners will get to truly experience everything the new Lake Tahoe has to offer as they Run – Rock – Recover.
The Rock Tahoe Half Marathon starts at Spooner Summit and drops over 1000ft as it winds its way down Highway 50 along the stunning East Shore of Lake Tahoe to a finish line directly in front of the brand new Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe. The course will also take runners off the highway along the newly completed forest bike path from Round Hill Pines to Rabe Meadow, weaving through beautiful scenery to truly capture the beauty of the region.
As the official sponsor hotel of the race, runners will have the option to purchase special weekend packages featuring a 2-night stay, free play, and more! When the property officially opens at the end of January 2015, The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe will be a fully integrated gaming resort offering over 500 slot machines and a wide variety of table games. The property will include a 539-room Hard Rock Hotel, a 25,000 plus square foot casino, the world-famous retail store, multiple restaurants and bars, the largest outdoor pool experience in South Lake Tahoe, and an assortment of live-entertainment both indoors and out.

Other weekend activities include a pre-race dinner on Friday night, the Runners Expo and Athletes Village, Pool Party for runners and their guests following the race, and awards for not only the top male and female age group finishers, but for “Most Ridiculous Running Outfit,” along with other fun categories.
