In this 20th anniversary year of the Volkswagen Prague Marathon, the Prague International Marathon (PIM) and New York Road Runners (NYRR) will partner for a unique relationship. The organization which puts on the Volkswagen Prague Marathon and the six other races of the RunCzech Running League today revealed details of the cooperation with NYRR, the organizers of the world’s largest marathon – the TCS New York City Marathon, which is also a member of the World Marathon Majors.

Based on the agreement, the TCS New York City Marathon will be the 2014 Guest Race for the RunCzech Running League 2014. The RunCzech Running League is a year-round program offering seven running events in some of the most enchanting places of the Czech Republic. There are three races in Prague; the Sportisimo Prague Half Marathon, the Volkswagen Prague Marathon, and the Birell Prague Grand Prix, and four half marathons throughout the Czech Republic – eastern – Mattoni Olomouc Half Marathon, southern – Mattoni Ceske Budejovice Half Marathon, western – Mattoni Karlovy Vary Half Marathon and northern – Mattoni Usti nad Labem Half Marathon. Six out of seven RunCzech events are awarded IAAF Road Race Labels (three Gold and three Silver).

Runners who have completed or at least registered for a minimum of three out of the seven RunCzech races this year will have an opportunity to enter the drawing to be held in early August to purchase a guaranteed entry to the TCS New York City Marathon and compete on one of the world’s great stages, the five boroughs of New York City. They will also be able to accrue points for the RunCzech ranking system where they compete with other runners from their own professions by age and gender for year-end honors.

Thanks to the cooperation with the NYRR, PIM will also be able to distribute five entries to Czech charities for use in their own fund raising efforts. PIM will also work with NYRR on an employee exchange program and by supporting NYRR’s fundraising auction to benefit youth running programs in the New York City public schools.

Additional information regarding the RunCzech Running League and the complete rules for participation in the TCS New York City Marathon entry draw can be found at the website.
