Kenya’s Joel Kipsang today won the 32nd Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon, in a time of 2hrs 19 mins 56 mins.
He was closely followed by countryman James Roitich, in 2:19:57. Freddy Suttick made it a triple podium finish for Kenya, finishing third in 2:24:39.
The top local competitor was Chicago-based Belfast runner Thomas Frazer, who came home in fourth place in 2:26:24.
The women’s race was won by Russia’s Natalya Lehonkova, in a new record time of 2:36:50. She was closely followed by Kenya’s Helen Cherono (2:37:08) and Sarah Kerubo (2:40:13).
