Registrations for the 2015 Paris Marathon that will be held in the French Capital on April 12th are now closed. More than 50,000 runners from all over the world have registered to take part.
This is a new record for the event.
This confirms the solid place of the event as on of the most popular marathons in the world, with TCS New York Marathon and Bank of America Chicago Marathon.
During the last New-York Marathon, 50 564 had crossed the finish line. In Paris, last spring, 38,674 runners managed to reach Avenue Foch, after a 26.1-mile journey through the streets of the city of light.
Few interesting figures
- 41,5% of runners are foreigners, United-Kingdom, USA and Spain providing the largest groups.
- The average age of the runners is 40.
- 25% of the participants are women.
