Marathon results
Kyle Fraser (2:27:37) pulled away from more than 2,200 runners at around Mile 20 to win the 35th annual Lakefront Marathon in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The USATF certified course runs adjacent to the shores of Lake Michigan.
Aaron Viets earned runner-up honors with a time of 2:28:59.
He was the only other participant to finish under two and a half hours.
Just missing the mark was Scott Allen, who cut closer to five minutes from his fourth-place finish a year ago to take third.
His time of 2:30:35 was a personal best.

For the women, it was Melissa Burkart (2:43:40) coming in comfortably ahead of the field to win the event for the second time in three years.
Her personal best of 2:43:40 was good for 10th overall and fifth all-time in the event.
Denise Manthy (2:52:19) hit her own personal record to take second.
She finished third in 2012.
Sofie Schunk rounded out the top three with a time of 2:52:35.
