5k For Life - Grand Prairie

Come join our Second Annual 5K For Life  at Mike Lewis Park Grand Prairie. Make a difference in your local community. New runners and families are welcome to join the 5K. Non runners are encouraged to try a community walk or run and you just might get hooked.  Founded in January 1994, Pregnant Resource Center vision for this annual 5k, is to inspire our community to lock-arms with the PRCGP and bring awareness and support to our local Center. This will become an annual fundraising resource that will provide essential funds towards ongoing projects and campaigns.   -Aid station (Super High Priority): Provide water to participants as they pass by. Keep course clean for runners by picking up discarded cups, bottles and trash and placing it in the provided trash cans.   -Course Monitor ( Super High Priority): Help maintain a safe course by redirecting traffic away from participants and guiding participants in the right direction.    Contact: [email protected] if you or anyone you know wish to volunteer. Great way to rack up community hours/credits. Feel free to bring pom pom, horns, music, instruments, signs etc. to encourage and cheer on runners. Bonus for creative costumes! AWARDS
Male and Female Overall Top 3 Male and Female for the following: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+   REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY Cancelation Policy All Lace Up Running events proceed rain or shine or snow or cold.  For that reason, we have a strict no refund policy. In the event of extreme weather, the start time of this event may be delayed by up to an half hour. Past this time, the even course may be shortened or altered to protect the participants. If conditions turns into lightening, ice or become unsafe, the event may be cancelled. Event changes and cancellations are at the discretion of the Race Director.  We always strive to produce a full and safe sporting event, but sometimes the weather conditions can affect those plans.  A lot of hours, days and even months goes into planning a sporting event and we do so with the best intentions. Unfortunately, no one can control the weather and race directors are not the exceptions. Our goal is to always produce a full event as scheduled and only modify these plans due to safety concerns some of which can be caused by weather conditions.  Thank you for your understanding of these policies and we appreciate your participation. If you are unable to participate in the event, or the event is canceled, you can still receive your packet, shirt, and medal and you simply run the race on your own time on your own course.
