Run with the Sturgeon

Run With the Sturgeon is a 5K race and 1K fun run along the beautiful Blue Water River Walk on the shores of the St. Clair River in downtown Port Huron! Meet our mascot, Seymour Sturgeon, who will be cheering you on! Start and finish at the Sturgeon Festival. Stick around after the awards ceremony and touch a live threatened Lake Sturgeon from Lake Huron! All 5K runners will receive a t-shirt and water bottle. 1K runners will receive a water bottle and may purchase a shirt for $8. All finishers will receive a medal! Awards will be presented to the top 3 finishers in each age group in the 5K. Proceeds benefit Friends of the St Clair River and Sturgeon For Tomorrow. Hello Runners! Are you ready to Run with the Sturgeon?  Here are a few last minute instructions for the race

Packet Pickup 

Friday, June 2 @ inside the Great Lakes Maritime Center at Vantage Point from 4:30 - 7:00pm.

Saturday, June 3 @ the starting line (Vantage Point) beginning at 7:00am.

Race Day Registration 

Friends and family still want to join you? Online registration is available until midnight on June 1st. Runners can also register in person as packet pick up Friday and Saturday! 

Race Day Parking

Please park in the Vantage Point Parking Lot. Be aware that the Flower Market and Sturgeon Festival are also happening on Saturday and will result in heavier than normal traffic.  

Start/Finish Line

The starting line for the 5K is at the end of Court St, at the entrance to Vantage Point. The 1K will start at Blue Water River Walk arch, just south of the Great Lakes Maritime Center. There will be volunteers available to direct 1K participants to the starting line. All races finish at the end of Court Street. Restrooms

There are plenty of restrooms located just across the parking lot from the starting line, inside the Maritime Cener

Race Day Events

7:00am  - Packet pick up opens

8:15am - 1K Fun Run begins on the Blue Water River Walk Arch

8:30am - 5K Run begins (the 5K will begin as soon as the 1K participants are finished) 

9:30am - Race awards and opening ceremony for the Sturgeon Festival

On Course Refreshments 

There will be one water station on the 5K course that runners will pass twice. Fruit, water and gatorade will be available at the finish. There is also a deli with fresh baked goods located inside the Maritime Center.
