About the event
For the past four years, the Samarkand Marathon has been held in the ancient Uzbekistan city of Samarkand to bring awareness to the issue of accessibility in cultural and art venues and to promote sports tourism. Runners have the chance to explore the famous landmarks of Tamerlane's former capital as they journey through the marathon's path.
