Walk A Mile in Our Shoes: Autism 5k

Benefitting the Educational Center for Autism and Raising Community Awareness.   Date & Starting Time:  Saturday, April 29, 2017 Registration will begin at 8:15 am. Fun Run (½ mile) begins at 9:00am 5k begins at 9:15 am. The race will start and finish at Shreveport Community Church: 5720 Buncombe Rd. Shreveport, LA, 71129.   Registration:  Early Registration is $20 until March 31, $25 through April 28th $30 on the day of the race April 29th. Registration is $15 for children (12 and under), which includes entry to the post-party carnival.   T-shirts & Race Packet Pick-Up:  Packet pick up will be held at Sportspectrum, Thursday, April 27st  from 12 pm-7 pm Friday, April 28th from 10 am-5:30 pm. You may also pick up your packet on April 29th at the race site beginning at 8:15 am. An original “Walk a Mile in Our Shoes: Autism 5K” t-shirt will not be guaranteed to anyone registered after April 17th, 2017.    Teams: Interested in racing as a team? Recruit your family, friends, or coworkers to run under a team name to raise awareness and show support for those affected by autism.   Age Groups and Awards:  8-under, 9-11, 12-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50+. Each age group winner will receive a prize.  Overall male & female will receive $100 gift card to SportSpectrum.   Post Party: Following the race we will host a post-race celebration and carnival for all children and their families. A variety of businesses, service providers, and local support resources will be available to showcase their products and services.   Donations: If you are unable to attend the race but would like to make a monetary donation to The Educational Center for Autism, you may do so by mailing a check, cash, or money order to The Educational Center for Autism 5720 Buncombe Rd. Shreveport, LA 71129 or online at https://ccpeople.cloverdonations.com/cc/   Special Note:  Strollers, wagons, baby joggers, and any hand pushed or pulled vehicle will be allowed on the course, but at a walk pace capacity only. Absolutely NO in-line skates, roller skates or runners with baby strollers will be allowed on run course. This rule is an RRCA regulation!   REGISTER EARLY! No t-shirts guaranteed to registrants after April 17, 2017.
