The event is located in Hamilton, New Zealand, about 100km south of Auckland.
How old is the race and why was it created in the first place?
The event is now into its 9th year and was created to fill a gap in the Hamilton running scene.
What kind of route have you set up for the runners? How would you describe it?
The course begins in the suburbs of Hamilton before taking in a loop on country roads. The course would be described as undulating and challenging.
We expect 2,000 runners from elite to novice. The event is also open to walkers.
Do you organize other races during the Week-End? If so, on what distances?
Yes we also organise a 10km and 5km race. These are all held on the same day.
At that time of the year, what kind of weather can we expect?
As it will be spring in New Zeland, the temperatures should be mild.
Have you planned festivities around the marathon?
No.
The race finished, what advice would you give a runner who has never been to Hamilton before? A good restaurant, a fancy sightseeing?
Enjoy the magnificent parks and gardens to a thriving cultural precinct. The city offers fine dining and nightlife options.
