The 2nd Annual Atlanta Lab Rescue 5K is a fundraiser for Atlanta Lab Rescue. ALR’s mission is to rescue Labrador Retrievers and Lab Mixes from overwhelmed shelters and abusive situations and place them in secure, loving homes. We average 40-50 dogs in the program at any given time and in our first 7 years, we have rescued over 3000 dogs. Our website is www.atlantalabrescue.com.
The Atlanta Lab Rescue 5K is open to the community, including: children, strollers and dogs! Children under 7 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the race and dogs must be on a leash at all times per Cobb County laws.
Registration fee includes long sleeved dri-fit shirt. The 5K will be timed by Elite Race Timing at www.eliteracetiming.com. Each participant will receive a race bib with a timing chip. Results will be provided at the end of the 5K and will be posted to our website. Awards will be provided to the top male and female winner overall, along with winners from each age group by gender and we’ll also have 3 top dog awards!
In the event of inclement weather involving lightening or hazardous conditions, please check our website home page at www.atlantalabrescue.com and facebook for Atlanta Lab Rescue for up to date information.
This is a volunteer run event for a 501© non-profit organization. While we appreciate that schedules change and things come up, we have a strict no-refund policy for those registrants who find themselves unable to participate on race day. If you aren’t able to participate in the event, we hope you will find some consolation in the fact that this is a fundraiser benefiting dogs in overcrowded shelters that need rescue to save their lives, which we believe is a great cause! No transfers from year to year or person to person.
