The 4th Annual Badge of Honor will honor those who lost the fight to mental illness while supporting those that serve our community every single day!
Proceeds raised from this event will be distributed among LRJ Foundation’s programs and services, and distinguished civil service groups; Police officers , Correctional officers and Firefighters in Northeastern Pennsylvania. LRJ Foundation will offer assistance for the best Mental health & Physical Health needs for these men and women upon their request.
Creation of the Badge of Honor was inspired by Derek Ruthkosky, youth Volunteer fire fighter who’s life was lost to suicide in 2015.
Derek felt at home in the Taylor Borough Fire & Rescue fire hall, where his fellow volunteer firefighters considered him a brother. He was known amongst his brethren there as a friend to everyone who’s smile was contagious to all.
The goal of this event is to increase positive mental health education and life skills in our schools and community, and to encourage others to take the potentially lifesaving steps of reaching out for help and make positive change in their lives.
