General Race Information
Sign up to participate in the fourth annual 5K run and 1 mile walk for brain injury awareness! This year’s race will be held right on the Ohio State campus, beginning at the RPAC and winding through iconic parts of campus such as the Oval! Registration / check-in will begin at 9:00 am. All participants that sign up by March 1st, 2020 are guaranteed a race t-shirt. Participants are encouraged to wear green, the color for brain injury awareness month (March)!
This event is hosted by Buckeyes Raising Awareness in Neuroscience (BRAIN). Proceeds benefit brain injury treatment and support at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Brain and Spine Center and the Neuro Nights program, a joint initiative between The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, The Ohio State University Chronic Brain Injury program, and BRAIN to provide comprehensive communal and wellness support for brain injury survivors in the central Ohio area. Race Day Schedule:
8:00AM – Race-day packet pickup begins at designated tables at the RPAC Northwest Plaza. Please check-in at least 30 minutes before your event.
9:00AM – Guest Speakers
9:30AM – 5K Run/1 Mile Walk begin – Both events will begin at the same time and place, with 5K participants in a corral ahead of the 1 mile walk participants. The 5K path will diverge after the 1 mile walk – both paths will be clearly marked.
10:45AM - Awards
Packet pickup will be available on race day beginning at 8AM in the RPAC Northwest Plaza. Early packet pickup will also be available on Saturday, March 21st from 10AM-4PM in the Hays Cape room (room 3152) in the Ohio Union.
This year’s race will begin at the Recreation and Physical Activity Center (RPAC) in the heart of The Ohio State University’s campus. The path will wind around the Oval and through the Olentangy River Trail, concluding at the starting line. View the course map here. Parking information TBA.
After the Run – Custom race medals will be awarded to the top male and female overall finishers for the 5K. Top male and female finishers in each age group will also receive custom awards. Prizes will also be awarded to our top 5 fundraisers! Participants are eligible for only ONE performance-based medal (i.e. top overall finishers will not be included in age group winners).
Light refreshments will be provided. All are welcome to participate in sand volleyball and basketball games on the Lincoln Tower Park courts.
