The first annual BYO Pooch 5k will benefit animal rescue organizations in the area. Together, you and your pooch (or pooches) may casually walk, quickly jaunt, or race your speediest. Don’t have a pooch? No worries! Join us anyhow— or borrow a pal’s! Race finisher medals will be handed out to the canines instead of the humans, and both species will benefit from water stations along the route and snacks after the race.
Proceeds will go to The Retrievers, an organization that helps families bring their missing dogs home and ensures the safety of stray dogs.
Donations can also be brought to the run and will be passed on to Range Regional Animal Rescue. They are currently in need of: litter, dish soap, laundry detergent.
All dogs must be leashed or held, and their number two taken care of whilst on the trail.
This run will not be chip timed, but times will be recorded and results will be emailed after the race, as well as be available at northlandrunner.com.
Sign-up by September 21st to receive a personalized finisher medal for your pup! After you register, please click “Contact this Race” at the bottom of the page and send a message with the name of your pooch/pooches that will be participating in the walk/run.
The first dog/human team to cross the finish line will win a special prize. And all finishers will receive a drink chip, to be redeemed at the Bigfork Wilderness Bar. Alcoholic or non!
Registration and packet pick-up starts at 8:00 AM. Race is at 9:00.
