About the event
Our goal for several years has been to create a Women's Only Race on a mid Summer's night. The date we landed on by sheer accident was July 24. This inaugural date hails the birth of Amelia Earhart, the pioneer for women in aviation.
The first plane Amelia Earhart owned, “The Canary”, helped her soar to record breaking heights. So what better name for this race than the Canary 5K. The name speaks strength, determination, passion, and vision! These are the qualities that we recognize and celebrate!
