The Cheryl Diamond NYC 5K Cancer Schlep brings together hundreds of participants from the county, ranging in age from 5 – 90 years old, bound together in solidarity to raise the hopes of those battling breast and ovarian cancer. These cancers are the most common cancers afflicting both men and women. The NYC 5K Cancer Schlep brings awareness and education to help further breast, ovarian & prostate cancer research and treatment supporting a BRCA multi-disciplinary clinic both in Israel. 


The Schlep benefits:
- Global research studies on breast and ovarian cancer cures, and BRCA mutation carriers
- The BRCA Multidisciplinary Clinic at Rabin’s Davidoff Center of Rabin’s Medical Center
- Raising global awareness for BRCA genetic screening for breast & ovarian cancer


RACE DAY TIMELINE:
7:30 AM – Registration Opens
8:30: DAY-OF REGISTRATION CLOSES, Walk-in Participants must be checked-in by this time or will not be timed. 
9:00 AM – Race Begins

American Friends of Rabin Medical Center (AFRMC) is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit charitable organization that was established in 1995. Through a variety of programs and fundraisers across the United States, the funds raised by American Friends of Rabin Medical Center benefit AFRMC in furtherance of its mission to fund charitable, educational and scientific purposes at Rabin Medical Center. A portion of all funds raised are used for AFRMC operations. Israel’s Rabin Medical Center in Petach Tikvah, named after former Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, is the pride of Israel, serving the needs of one million patients annually without regard to ethnicity, nationality or religion. The NYC 5K SCHLEP: Breast and Ovarian Cancer Run / Walk is a certified 5K that brings together hundreds of participants from the New York tri-state area, ranging in age from 6 - 90 years old, bound together in solidarity to raise the hopes of those battling breast and ovarian cancer as well as awareness and funds to help further research and treatment. The NYC 5K SCHLEP Run / Walk benefits a BRCA Multidisciplinary Clinic to serve women at high risk of breast and ovarian cancer and funds research to find cures for breast and ovarian cancers. The NYC 5k SCHLEP Run / Walk also supports studies in connection to BRCA mutation carriers. The event raises over $150,000 annually.
