Dirt Abides Race # 3: the Wenatchee Dirty Bloom

 

Thank you for your interest in Dirt Abides 2024 Race # 3:  the Wenatchee Dirty Bloom mountain bike race! 

Special info on this race!
“No running water or electricity available at this event venue. Porta Potties will be provided. Dirty Bloom XC will take place about 20 minutes drive from downtown Wenatchee. The Dirty Bloom XC will follow the usual format with all the same categories competing for event podiums and overall series points. All riders who participate in the Dirty Bloom XC will automatically be entered into the Dirty Bloom Fat Tire Criterium. The crit will take place Saturday evening in downtown Wenatchee in conjunction with the Tour de Bloom Stage Race. Crit categories will be: Open Men and Open Women. Each category will race separately for about 20min and the fastest finisher in each category will be awarded a coveted Tour de Bloom belt buckle. There will also be other random prizes and primes awarded during the crit and podium presentation to follow with the winners taking home a coveted custom belt buckle! Start times for the Crit TBA at the Dirty Bloom XC race on Saturday May 4. Rules for the crit: all riders must race the crit on the same bicycle they rode in the Dirty Bloom XC (no component or tire changes are allowed!) All riders must have their DAS number plate on their bike and sign a waiver to be officially entered into the crit. Dirty Bloom crit results will NOT count toward Dirt Abides Series Overall—this will be a FUN event and we encourage all riders who race the Dirty Bloom XC to stick around for the crit!”

Entry limit:  150 total racers at this event!

Note the day:  This race is on SATURDAY, unlike the other races in the Dirt Abides mountain bike race series this year.

A lunch and beverage is included with your entry at each race.   Serving begins at 11:30 am.

Entry fees:  In-person registration prices increase $10.  

Awards:  Prizes for the top three finishers in each category, and cash payout for the top three overall times in Expert Men and Expert Women.  Awards start at 1:00 pm.  Best five out of seven races count for the series title (must start at least four races to qualify).

Racing age in our series this year is a racer’s age on December 31, 2024.

Rider meeting:  At the starting line 10 minutes before the start.

On-site registration and number/chip/clothing pickup:  open 6:00--8:00 pm the evening before the race, and 7:00--9:00 am on race day.

Singe-Speed category:  All genders and ages race together.  If there are deemed to be enough entries, the promoter will separate the race into multiple categories.

Non-Binary category:  We want to celebrate the racers who have been omitted from the traditional men’s and women’s categories and create spaces where everyone feels safe and welcome. The Non-Binary category is a step in this ever-evolving process that, although imperfect, we feel is a positive move in the right direction.  We ask our non-binary racers to give us feedback as the season continues.
