About the event

Who is Elizabeth?
Elizabeth was a bright student with a wonderful future.  She excelled in whatever she set out to do.  Her love for people, athletics and the arts were among her greatest attributes.  She attended West Islip Schools, graduated Harvard University with honors and was in her final year  at NYU Law School when, in September of 1998 her life suddenly came to an end. Elizabeth died from a disease know as Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM).

What is the Elizabeth T. McNamee Memorial Fund?
The Elizabeth T. McNamee Memorial Fund was established to raise funds for the awareness and education to our public and healthcare professionals and to provide support services to those affected by hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) and their families. With the technology of today we are proud to be a part of getting this information to many families in need. This fund has also supported scholarship programs, community projects, childhood disease foundations and pediatric care facilities.  We are proud of the work we have done to support these worthwhile causes.   Since Elizabeth’s death family and friends have organized an annual 5k run and fun run walk held each Mothers Day. Our event has many sponsors including Entenmanns Bakery, Bimbo Bakeries USA, Pepsi, Consumers Kitchen and Baths, and the L. I. Ducks, among others.   About This Activity
