I did this race in 2020 and cannot agree more with the previous posts. Whilst an incredible experience and a great concept, there was minimal organisation to warrant such an enormous entry fee. The whole event lacked organisation and demonstrated a negligent attitude by the race organiser, putting lives at risk. I still don't know where the entry fee went...I can only think it went into the race organiser's attempts to row the Atlantic, not my experience in the jungle.

I took part in this race in 2020 and agree with the other review; I cannot go higher than 1 star. Theoretically a fun concept, but absolutely horribly organised race. Completely false advertising. Race director not actually there at the race with no proper replacement, a race course that was designed on the spot, guides who were picked a few days before the race and did not know or had never been to parts of the course, failing (and not tested at the location) GPS devices (probably the biggest problem as that put competitors in real danger), some teams had to skip an entire race day because there were not enough people to man the checkpoints, no organised finish whatsoever - these are just a few of the problems. Don’t waste your money!!

Don’t expect to be running anywhere near this distance.. false advertising

Great concept and great adventure, however extremely poorly organized and not as advertised. The training is done by one guy at his farm in the jungle, there are definitely no special forces people present. The training was very poor, not the guy's fault really, he did the best he could, but it was not nearly enough to ensure the racers were prepared. Because of this, many last minute changes were made and nobody really new from one moment to the next what was happening. The race itself was quite dangerous. If you are a weak swimmer do not even attempt it...the race description says no river crossings you can't wade across, but in reality the first 2-3 days are spent swimming/floating/navigating a big river. On day two we spent 10 hours submerged in the river, so if you are not a swimmer you will struggle. The finish line was a joke...not a soul was there to meet us or any of the teams but one, so we had to find out own food and accommodation after we finished until the medics caught up with us the next day. Really, the whole event was a gong show. I highly recommend not doing it.
