Join us for this 1 Mile Shamrock Run which will take place immediately before the St. Patrick’s Parade in the village of Wappingers on Saturday, March 7th at 12:45pm. The run will conclude next to Mesier Park in the village of Wappingers near the grandstand. Wear your most festive St. Patrick’s gear and let’s kick off parade day with some fun!
The cost of this even will be $20-$30 (depending on when you register) and will include:
- Participation in a 1 mile chip-timed run (results kiosk at the finish for instant results) through the village of Wappingers prior to the start of the St. Patrick’s Parade
- A custom Shamrock Run pint glass
- A hand-made wooden Shamrock Run commemorative participation medal
- A custom designed Shamrock Run race bib
- Unique age group prizes (10 year age groups)
Registration is online only – there will be no in-store sign-ups for this event. Runners & walkers of all paces are encouraged including first timers. The use of headphones is strongly discouraged and we promise that you won’t need them anyway!
Bib Pickup will take place at Fleet Feet Poughkeepsie starting on Wednesday, March 4th through Saturday March 7th during our normal business hours. On the morning of the race, it is recommended that you park at the Shoppes at South Hills and we will take a short walk as a group down to the start line on Route 9D in the village of Wappingers. It will be your responsibility to get back to your car after the run. You can also attempt to park close to the finish and walk or get a ride to the start. Race day registration will be $30.
Is there a minimum age to participate?
This is a family friendly event and there is no minimum age to participate and the entire 1 mile route will be closed to traffic. Please use your judgement when registering minors for this event.
Can I bring a stroller or a dog on a leash?
We ARE able to accommodate strollers at this event, however we ask that extreme caution is used particularly on the downhill portion of the run. Please leave adequate space between your stroller and other runners. We are unfortunately unable to accommodate dogs at this event.
Do you have a course map?
The course will be measured with a wheel to ensure accuracy.
Is the course flat?
The beginning part of the course is flat and then it goes into a nice extended downhill. The last portion of the run before approaching the park is uphill. The elevation profile can be viewed by visiting the course map link above.
I signed up but can’t attend, can I transfer my registration?
We are unable to accommodate bib transfers or deferments for this event.
