girlygirl P.A.R.T.S. 5K Run/Walk for Ovarian Cancer

girlygirl P.A.R.T.S. started simply as a discussion between two friends over a cup of coffee in March of 2009.  Jill Di-Tommaso was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in February of 2008. She and her wonderful friend, Laura Smith, have been dedicated to raising awareness about this devastating disease.

Together they founded the girlygirl P.A.R.T.S. 5K Run/Walk for Ovarian Cancer to raise funds for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for the research of a pre-screening tool for ovarian cancer.

Jill passed away on December 27, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. We need your help now more than ever!

Over the last 7 years,  we are proud to say that we have donated over $450,000 to the Ovarian Research Fund directed by Dr. Ursula Matalonis at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.  Dr. Ursula Matalonis is the medical director of gynecologic oncology.  

C'mon out boys!  Manly men run and walk with us for all the women in their lives.  

Grab everyone you know and fight for your mothers, sisters, aunts, daughters and nieces!  The time is now!!

NEW RACE CATEGORIES-RUN ONLY OR WALK ONLY

RUN ONLY- Register for RUN ONLY if you will be running OR if you know you will walk fast enough to place in your age roup.  The RUN ONLY category will be issued a race number with a timing chip embedded in it.  This means you will receive an official time and you will be eligible for age group awards.

WALK ONLY- Register for WALK ONLY if you are walking to show your support for the fight against ovarian cancer but you do not care about receiving an offical time.  PLEASE NOTE:  If you walk fast enough to place in your age group--you need to register in the RUN ONLY category to be eligible for age group awards.

Register online by September 16 @3:30PM and Save $$$~~ Adults $35/Children 4-17 $15

Register On Site Friday, September 16 from 4-6PM or Saturday, September 17 from 7-8:30AM

 Adults $45/Children 4-17 $15

Packet Pick Up & Registration: 

Friday, September 16 from 4-6 PM at Craigville Beach, Centerville, MA.  

Registration fee will be $45 if you want to register on site Friday evening.  Save $$ and register online by Friday, September 16 @3:30PM.

We encourage you all to pick up your race number, goodie bag and tshirt the night before. Drive the course and enjoy the sunset on the beach with your friends and family.  We will have girlygirl merchandise for sale so bring your credit cards and cash!

Saturday, September 17: 

7-8:30 am ~Registration and packet pick up.  

You can still register the morning of the race.  C'mon over!  Registration will be $45 if you register on site Saturday, September 17.  Save $$ and register online before Friday, September 16 @3:30pm !!

8:40 am~ Opening Ceremonies  

9:00 am ~5 K Run/Walk begins.  We start ON TIME so please plan to be ready to go at 9am.  

PLEASE NOTE:  WE START PROMPTLY AT 9AM.   AFTER 9AM , YOU ARE WELCOME TO RUN/WALK BUT YOU WILL  NOT RECIEVE AN OFFICIAL TIME.  IT IS A GOOD IDEA TO PLAN TO ARRIVE BY 8:15 AM.  THIS GIVES YOU TIME TO PARK AND GET TO THE START LINE TO BE READY TO RUN/WALK AT 9AM.  

WE ARE BACK AT CRAIGVILLE BEACH FOR 2016!!!!

Craigville Beach is a gorgeous location with more room for girlygirl shenanigans!  There is more parking available right at our race location.  We thank the Town of Barnstable for welcoming us and making us comfortable in our new location.

 

5K RUN COURSE

Our 5k is a mostly flat course that makes a right out of Craigville Beach parking lot.  Follow Craigville Beach Road past Covell's Beach and make a left onto Centerville Avenue.  You will then make a left onto Jackson Avenue.  Make a right to get back onto Craigville beach Road.    Get ready to pass the race start and all of your girlygirl fans as they make noise for you to continue on to Long Beach Road.  There will be a turnaround at the end of Long Beach Road and you can join us back at Craigville Beach parking lot for the finish.  

There will be a water stop near Covell's Beach - which is about halfway through the course.  You will enjoy the thrill of passing our parking lot and seeing all of the other girlygirl runners and walkers as you loop back on the course.  This will create incredible energy and support.  Isn't that what this day is all about?!
