Got Grit? 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk

Join us for this great family event. There will be a 5k race with chip timing on a certified course. We will also have a one mile Fun Run/Walk and a Toddler Trot for the little runners. All participants in the one mile event receive medals. After the race enjoy the great refreshments: fruit, cookies, salty snacks and tasty homemade baked goods. After the award ceremony we will have a drawing for prizes. Child care will be provided while parents run the 5k. The race will be held, rain or shine. No refunds. Profits from the event go for scholarships and various awards for students in Orange County Schools.

5k course: The race starts at the high school, winds through quiet streets and finishes on the track. The out and back course is certified (NC13016DF).

Awards:

Top three male and female finishers receive trophies. Top male and female Masters finishers receive trophies. Top male and female Grandmasters finishers receive trophies. The top three male/female finishers in the following age groups receive trophies: 9-under, 10-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24,25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-over.

 

Location:  The event takes place at Orange High School, 500 Orange High School Road, Hillsborough, NC 27278. There is plenty of free parking.

 
Shirts: Participants who register by May 9 are guaranteed a beautiful race t-shirt. After that date, while supplies last.

Packet pick up: Runners can register and/or pick up their packets on Friday evening from 4-8pm outside Weaver St. Market (Hillsborough) near the parking deck and the entrance of the River Walk. Runners can also pick up their packets on race day.
