Hornet Hustle

The Hornet Hustle was founded in 2009 by the Abilene Elementary PTO to replace traditional sales fundraisers. It’s a fun event for the students while also encouraging physical activity and competition. Hornet Hustle is completely organized by volunteers and 100% of the proceeds go back to the school.  This is a  competitive race with top finisher awards for children 10 and under, ages 11-18, and 19 and older. There is a male and female category for each age division.  This year we will be adding a senior awards division for runners who are over 60 years old. Because our race is on a cross country course, we’re offering a special discount for school cross country participants to run without receiving an event shirt. 5k Begins at 8:00 a.m
2 Mile Begins at 9:00 a.m.
1 Mile Begins at 9:30 a.m.
Pre-K 50 yd Dash Begins at 10:00 a.m.

$10 Cross Country Team Participants (No Shirt) - This special offer is for individual school cross country team members ONLY. An event shirt is not included, but cross country runners will be eligible for medals this year. To register for this category please fill out a paper registration form and return it in person to the Abilene Elementary office at 522 N. All participants may run all 3 races at no additional cost!

Awards for first 3 men or women that finish each race in the following age divisions:
10 years old and younger
Ages 11-18
Ages 19-59
60 years old and up
