INstead 5k

Each September, hundreds of runners and walkers transform the quiet Newstead neighborhood of South Orange into a leafy 5K race course to support Achieve’s programs that benefit students in all ten South Orange/Maplewood schools.
Since 2002, the event has provided as much as $30,000 annually to enhance education and promote fitness and good health. The race, which is considered a “fast” course, features chip timing by CompuScore and a 1 mile Fun Run for children (sponsored by the Able Baker).  
Excellent sponsorship opportunities for businesses and families provide an important way to raise vital funds for public education and kick off a new school year.
