13th Annual Winter Race Series – COVID edition
2021 would have been the 13th annual 5k Winter Race Series hosted by Inyo County Search and Rescue and sponsored by Sage to Summit in Bishop, CA. All race donations support medical training and the General Fund for the all-volunteer Inyo County SAR. This year, due to the dramatic increase in COVID-19 cases both locally and around the country, we have made the difficult decision to switch to a virtual 2021 race series.
There is a link to the GPX file of the 5k course from previous years; however, due to the pandemic, your race entry can be a 5k (or longer) run anywhere! In order to submit your race result, submit a GPS track of your run/Strava/etc. or just your time and distance. Results without GPS verification will not be eligible for prizes, but they are just as fun!
You may sign up individually or as a three person team; Local Businesses, Agencies, Law Enforcement, Fire, EMS and Public teams are all welcome to run as a team. To register as a team, email the race director the three runner names and what you’d like your group to be called. All three members must register for and run all three races in order to qualify for team standings. After the third race, the fastest team over the three races will be the winner.
Race Info and Winning!

There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for each race (for all three races) in the following categories Male, Female, Kids, (12 and under). There will be an overall winner for the Series in Male, Female, Kids, and Team.

The original 5k course will not be marked, but local runners who would like to follow the original course can use the GPX file to do so. Please follow all state and local Public Health orders while participating in this race. Please do not run with people from outside your household. Maintain social distancing if you encounter other people.
Have fun, be safe, and thanks for supporting Inyo County Search and Rescue!
