Iowa Walk for Epilepsy & 5K - Iowa City: Presented by University of Iowa Department of Neurology & Neurosurgery

The Iowa Walk for Epilepsy & 5K is being presented by University of Iowa Health Care - Department of Neurology & Neurosurgery and organized by the Epilepsy Foundation of North/Central Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska. Come together and join others to raise money to help support the services to people living with Epilepsy in Iowa! The 5K run will be a chipped timed event again this year!  The 5K Run and 1 mile walk will start at 10:30 AM at Shelter #6, Lower City Park, Iowa City. This is your opportunity to impact people's lives by raising funds as a team in honor of your loved one for people living with epilepsy in Iowa. *Families living with epilepsy who would like to participate in the 1 mile walk, but are unable to pay the registration fee, please call the Epilepsy Foundation's Iowa office at 515-238-7660 for more information. Event Schedule

9:00 a.m. - Registration and pre-walk festivities at Shelter #6
10:30 a.m. - Start Time for the 5K Run
The 1 Mile Walk will start immediately after the runners have started, but walkers will be on a separate course. Immediately following the 5K run and walk, there will be entertainment and a FREE lunch.  
We will be awarding medals to the 1st and 2nd place male and female finishers in the 5K Run for the following categories: 19 & under, 20 - 35, 36 - 45 and 46 & over.

*Important: The Iowa Walk for Epilepsy and 5K in Iowa City will be held rain or shine. We do not offer refunds due to inclement weather. All registration fees and contributions go toward serving individuals, families, caregivers with epilepsy programs and services, as well as advocacy efforts. The deadline to receive a T-shirt with a paid $25 registration fee is May 31st. For those registering after May 31st, there will be a limited number of extra T-shirts for sale at $10/shirt.  If registering after May 24th and you pay the $25 fee, you are not guaranteed a T-shirt.  

On Friday, June 9th from 4:30- 6:30 PM, participants should come to the Iowa City Public Library to pick-up their race packet and T-shirt. Additionally, participants will be able to register in person if they did not register online. The library is located downtown Iowa City at 123 South Linn Street, Iowa City. On the day of the event, June 10th, registration and packet pick-up will be at 9:00 AM.
