Live Like Luke 5K

The Live Like Luke 5K is an inaugural event being held at Town Center Plaza in Leawood, KS.  The race will raise funds for the Foundation and their mission to eliminate the financial barrier for children wishing to participate in enrichment activities.  The Foundation was established to honor Luke Bresette, who passed away on March 22, 2013 from a tragic accident at the Birmingham, Alabama airport where a flight information board fell on him, his brothers Tyler and Sam, and mother, Heather. To further Luke's legacy, the Foundation focuses their support in three primary areas:

-Supporting citywide tournaments for any sports (baseball, basketball, football, soccer, etc.) and/or sponsor youth programs in Luke’s name.  In addition, other enrichment children activities are considered.
-Assisting children with terminal illness achieve items on their bucket list. 
-Assisting families that have experienced a tragedy in their lives.  

This 5K event will provide participants with race shirts and overall and age group awards to the top finishers.  There will be a family zone in conjunction with the race for kids to enjoy and food and beverages for participants. There will also be a birthday party celebration after the race, celebrating Luke's birthday and life!
