Mental Health Matters 5 Mile Run/1.5 Mile Walk

Come break your PR on this fast out and back rail trail course! This third annual event takes place at Station Plaza of Canal Place in the historical Downtown Cumberland, MD. Run/Walk starts and finishes in this location while the course takes place on the beautiful Great Allegheny Passage. A water station will be provided by the gas station in the Narrows for runners to have on the way up and back. 

PRIZE MONEY for Overall Top 3 Male & Female finishers!! 1st: $250;  2nd: $125;  3rd: $75.  Male/Female Masters winners will receive NEW shoes donated by Personal Best Athletics!! Prizes to Top 3 Male/Female winners in the following age groups: under 13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+. There will be door prizes and raffles that you won't want to miss!

We'll give you an extra $25 if you beat our course record! Male Record: 26:22 (2017); Female Record: 32:57 (2016)

Register on/before April 28th in order to guarantee an event t-shirt! We cannot guarantee them after that date. Proceeds from the race benefit the Behavioral Health System's Office of the Allegany County Health Department. The BHSO is the local entity charged with the responsibility of planning, managing, and monitoring public mental health services. At the individual level, the BHSO's mission has expanded over the years to include a variety of mental health support services including homeless services, in-home/community services for children with emotional/behavioral needs and theirs families, housing supports, and a re-entry program for individuals with mental illness who are leaving jail or prison.
