Northeast Philly 5 Mile Run & 2 Mile Walk

The 15th Annual Northeast Philly 5 Mile Run & 2 Mile Walk will be held once again at the Northeast Philadelphia  Airport (Grant Ave & Ashton Rd entrance to the airport) on Sunday, October 14, 2018.The NE Philly 5 Mile Run & 2 Mile Walk was inspired from an idea by State Representative Dennis M. O'Brien who saw the event as a way to demonstrate community spirit, promote the importance of being physically fit and also help in raising funds for local youth sports clubs in Northeast Philadelphia.   The 5 Mile Run is a competitive race (overall winner and age group awards) starting and finishing inside the Northeast Philadelphia Airport.  The 2.5 mile out and back course is traffic free and run on a macadam path surrounding the airport.  Great surroundings on a fairly flat and traffic free course.   The 2 mile Walk also start and finish in the airport following the out and back 1 mile traffic free macadam path (non competitive).  The race supports the following youth clubs of the Northeast Philadelphia Youth Alliance (NEPYA) (Academy Sabres, Liberty Bell, Parkwood, Penn Academy, Philadelphia Soccer Club, Torresdale Boys Club).  The runners/walkers receive T shirts and race day breakfast.  Free Parking on site at the airport.  Walk starts at 8:15 am / 5 Mile Run at 9am.  Registration before Oct 8, special price of $15 for adult and $10 for youth (14 and under).  Race day price is $20 adult and $15 for youth.  More details and Race Results on www.nepya.org and www.belmontplateaucchof.com
