About the event
Participants can register at the Bolingbrook Park District located at 200 S. Lindsey Ln. Bolingbrook, IL 60440 or 201 Recreation Dr. Bolingbrook, IL 60440 from 5:00am-10:00 pm Monday through Friday, 7:00 am-8:00 pm on Saturday, and 7:00 am-6:00 pm on Sunday.
Registration fee:
$23 adults, $21 child (5-14 years), if registered before August 1, 2017
$25 adults, $23 child (5-14 years), if registered by August 24, 2017, at 5:00 pm
Pre-registration closes on August 24, 2017 at 5 pm CT. Race day registration will be available beginning at 6:30 am ($30 adult/$28 child ages 5-14). Parkie's 5k runs rain or shine. No refunds available.
There will be an awards presentation following the finish of the race. Awards consist of plaques for overall male and female and medals to the top three finishers in each age group of men and women (10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+).
The first 500 registrants will receive a moisture wicking t-shirt (sized cannot be guaranteed). Post-race refreshments will be provided.
A gear check area will be provided for participants inside Pelican Harbor. Limited childcare services will be available inside the Bolingbrook Recreation and Aquatic Complex building ($3 per child per hour).
Parkie's 5k is a CARA Emerging Race
This race has applied for and received the Chicago Area Runners Association designation as a CARA EMERGING RACE (#16064). This distinction is given to races receiving CARA Race Certification for the first time. This race has agreed to adhere to and uphold CARA’s Best Practices Guidelines. These Guidelines embody the highest standards for quality, safety and comfort for participants in a road race.

Parkie's 5k
Join us for Parkie’s cool down at Pelican Harbor after the race! Pelican Harbor will open at 10:00 am just for runners and their families with purchase of Bolingbrook Cares wristbands for $3. Your wristband will provide access to Pelican Harbor for this special early event and for the entire day. All proceeds from wristband sales will support the Bolingbrook Park District Financial Aid fund. Purchased wristbands will be included in your race packet.
The race starts and finishes in front of the Bolingbrook Recreation and Aquatic Complex. The USATF certified course winds through subdivisions and park property on paved streets. Course monitors, split timers, and water stations will be provided.
