About the event
You don't want to miss this one.
You get to run from Placid Lake (near the town of Seeley Lake, MT) to Gold Creek (near Missoula, MT) through the heart of the Montana mountain country. You will start at Placid Lake state park near the town of Seeley Lake and finish at Gold Creek near the town of Missoula. We will shuttle you from the finish line (Gold Creek) to the start (Placid Lake) and you will run back to your car and your cheering family/friends. The run will consist of trail, closed Forest Service roads, and some miles of maintained, but seldom used, Forest Service roads. There will be a support station approximately every 10K, with a 20K, and 30K bag drop. The route will climb a few passes, but is not overly steep. It is nice mix of long steady climbs and long enjoyable declines. You will run through some burned sections, past old cabins, and along the route author Norman Maclean walked with his brother from Seeley Lake to Missoula. There will be an after party (5pm) at Conflux Brewing in downtown Missoula!
Friday, June 6 from 5 to 6pm: Packet pickup at Conflux Brewing (downtown Missoula). Saturday, June 7 at 7am: Shuttle leaves Conflux Brewing (7am) stops by Gold Creek (aprox. 7:30am) and heads to Placid Lake. You can drive yourself or have someone drop you off at Placid, but the shuttle leaves Conflux at 7am sharp. Saturday, June 7 at 9am: 50K start! Race cutoff time is 4pm (Aprox. 7 hours). Saturday, June 7 at 5pm: After-party with a free drink and appetizers at Conflux Brewing! Race shirt, finishers medal, free beer, and fun appetizers!Races offered by this event
