PTOS Innovation 5K and Plot Trot

The Fifth (almost) Annual Innovation 5k offers a competitive but fun race on Eisenhower Avenue with a climb close to the start/end of the run. The event starts on Eisenhower Avenue behind the Madison Building and finishes in the Dulaney Gardens of the USPTO Campus. The event offers a unique technical t-shirt, B-Tag Timing by Amazing Race Timing, a chance to win valuable awards/prizes, and post-race refreshments, and fun activities for kids of all ages.

The Goggle Dash has become the Plot Trot for this year!

This year we will be having the Plot Trot as a way to collect graphing pads that will be donated to a local Alexandria middle school for use by the students in their pursuit of STEM education. Don't have a graph paper pad on hand? No problem! One will be included in your race packet. We'll be collecting them at the conclusion of the Plot Trot as well as other times during the event.
Similar to the Goggle Dash last year, the .1k Plot Trot start at 8:15am to kick off the day. Dashers will run/walk/skip/dash the 100 meters to the location of the 5k start. We encourage everyone to trot with their pads of graphing paper to the finish line where we will have donation bins set-up for anyone wanting to donate their graph paper pad.

Photo Booth and Information on Camera Innovations!

After you and your family have completed the Plot Trot and/or the 5k, stop by the photo booth to get your picture taken with the fun props provided and then check out the booths that will be set-up during and after the race highlighting innovations in cameras and the world of photography.

Each registrants of the PTOS Innovation 5k will recieve a race packet (packet pick-up times below) including:
A pad of graphing paper for the Plot Trot
An Innovation 5k/Plot Trot techincal t-shirt

RACE PREMIUM - UNIQUE TECHNICAL T-SHIRTS

Each Innovation 5k registrant will receive a technical t-shirt depicting the PTOS Innovation 5k and Plot Trot logos. Youth, Lady and Male/Unisex sizes and styles are available!

Registrants of only the Plot Trot will have the option of adding a technical t-shirt for an additional $10.00.

POST-RACE ACTIVITIES

Be sure to stop by the photo booth to get your picture taken (the sillier the better!) with the fun props provided and then check out the booths that will be set-up after the race highlighting innovations in cameras and the world of photography.

Fresh bananas, granola bars and bottled water will be available post race for all participants.

Award ceremony to follow completion of the race at approximately 9:45am.

PACKET PICK-UP

Packets will be available for pick-up on Wednesday (6/15) and Thursday (6/16) from 12:00 - 1:00pm in the lower atrium of the Madison building of the USPTO. You must fill out a Participant Waiver and Release form to pick up your packet.

Packets will also be available for pick-up on the morning of the race in the lower atrium of the Madison building of the USPTO from 7:15 - 8:00am.

Picking Up for Your Friends and Family
We do allow participants to pick up bibs and t-shirts for their friends and family however they must bring a completed Participant Waiver and Release form for each person they are picking up for. The forms are found at the above links. Please note that t-shirts cannot be mailed if they are not picked up.

5K Training at the USPTO

The Fitness Center located on the first floor of the Knox Building at the USPTO is a great resource for USPTO employees to train and get in shape for the Innovation 5k. For more information on membership, please see one of the Fitness Center staff members at the front desk of the gym or visit http://www.ptofitness.org/.

The USPTO WorkLife Team also has both running and walking clubs available for all employees of the USPTO. The running and walking clubs are for athletes of ALL levels, from the first-timer all the way up to the most experienced. 5k AWARDS

Prizes will be awarded to the top two male and female overall finishers. Race medals and certificates will be to the top two male and female finishers in each of the following age groups: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 & over. Prizes will also be awarded for the the top 2 finishing teams in the Parent/Child category.

There will also be random awards during the post-race ceremony - you must be present to win random prizes!
