The Race To Outrun Hunger is a 5-K race around the scenic campus of East Stroudsburg University. Runners from the University, local high schools, running clubs, and weekend warriors participate and are always welcome. The race is a timed event with trophies and medals are awarded for the top overall finishers as well as different age groups.
In addition to the 5-K race, there is also a 5-K and 1-mile family fun walk. Families, strollers, and kids of all ages are welcome. Check-in and registration opens at 8 a.m., with the racers leaving the starting line at 9 a.m. All attendees are welcome to attend a free health fair that will feature a wide variety of health providers, and community organizations to make this a one of a kind event. Also at the health fair/expo all attendees will be treated to a buffet style lunch catered by surrounding restaurants.
