Raven Rocks Run

Note: Registration cost already includes the $10 per car parking fee charged to us by the park. The park counts the number of cars entering for the race and charges us the parking fee directly. You can maximize our charitable contribution by carpooling, walking, or riding to the park.

The Raven Rocks 10k Run is a the first new trail run at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Cross River, NY in over 20 years.

The second running of the race will be Sunday, November 12th, 2017 at 9am. The race will start in the Meadow — same spot where the Leatherman’s Loop begins. But instead of heading down towards the river as the Loop does, the Raven Rocks Run 10k course climbs up to the two highest points in the park (Raven Rocks Overlook and the Fire Tower Summit) before heading back for a downhill and flat finish.

The course passes by the site of the former Blue Trail fire tower which is the highest point in the park. We are supporting the Trailside Museum in their efforts to bring back the tower to its former spot in the park. See Course Map page for course details.

The Raven Rocks 10k Run is participating in the Trail Mix Trail Series in 2017 as the sixth and final race of that series. You don’t have to participate in the series to run the Raven Rocks Run — all are welcome!

We are looking forward to November when we will run this event for the third time!

Why an extra cost for shirts? For many races the shirts are underwritten by sponsors whose names appear on the shirts. Our races have no sponsors other than the runners who run in them. This lets our Raven Rocks Run shirts be ad free. They are unique for each year of the race. If you run in a lot of races you probably have a ton of race shirts, but few will be like this one.

We think the Raven Rocks Run shirts are amazing but we don't want you to get one unless you want it.

The price of the shirt covers the cost of the shirt plus the commission of the artist who created the artwork. Income after expenses is donated to Friends of Trailside, Art in the Parks, the Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and other local not-for-profit organizations.
