Recall Run 5K

The first of its kind, the Recall Run 5K provides a mental and physical challenge. Our unique 5K course consists of words and images that runners must commit to memory and recall at the conclusion of the race. The winner of the Recall Run will be determined by the best combination of finish time and recalled items. Awards will also be given for the top three male and female finish times. Come 'jog your memory'!

May I walk?
Absolutely! Yet, we must have a cut off time so we don't keep runners waiting too long before we can calculate the overall winner. In order to qualify for the Recall Run Grand Champion, you must finish the race under 35 minutes. You will still be able to view your results and adjusted times.

What is my "adjusted time" and how is the Recall Run winner decided?
In order to determine the overall winner, we've developed a specialized formula that integrates the International Age Grading Table. Our statisticians will use this formula to calculate each runner's Age, Finish Time and Item Recall. Taking each of these categories into consideration allows us to "level the playing field", giving every participant an equal chance to take home our most prestigious award, "Recall Run Grand Champion".

What time will the awards ceremony be?
In order to give our statisticians adequate time to do the calculations, and to consider all finish times of runners within the 35-minute cutoff, we're estimating the awards ceremony to be held at approximately 10:30am.

What do I do in the meantime?
There will be a Health Expo, prize giveaways, food and live music. Each race participant will also receive discount coupons for local restaurants and attractions (within walking distance) in your race packet.

How many recall items are going to be on the course?
That is for us to know and you to find out!

Where do I record my recalled items?
As soon as you cross the finish line, grab your choice of rehydration. Our team of volunteers will then point you in the right direction so you can list as many items as you can recall.

What kind of a timing system will you use?
The Recall Run uses a Jaguar Timing System provided by Precision Timing Solutions. Jaguar overhead antennas allow for a no trip or slip hazard and provides more accurate reads. Disposable timing chips are preprogrammed and inserted into your bib. This makes for an easy of race registration, and keeps runners from having to return their timing chips after the race.

What does the course look like?
Runners will start in downtown Pauls Valley, making their way through neighborhoods before entering a nature trail (1.35 mi). Along the nature trail (.5 mi), words and images will be appear on signs along the race path. Once exiting the nature trail, runners will follow the same course back to the start/finish line (1.35 mi).
