Run As One - San Rafael

Welcome to Run As One. The Can Do! Community 5K, Fun Run, and Festival. We are excited to host a Fun Run/Walk and 5K race for the Dixie School District children, families, teachers, staff and the entire San Rafael community and beyond. All finishers receive a t-shirt and entry to the family festival immediately following the run. The festival includes inflatables for kids of all ages, a climbing wall, games, food and other exciting activities. Prizes will be awarded for the 5K to the top male and female finishers in various age categories. All proceeds from the race go to the Can Do! Education Foundation to fund vital programs for the Dixie School District that may not otherwise be available. Can Do! bridges the gap between what our schools need and what they receive to provide our children with an extraordinary well rounded education.We invite you to sign up for the race and support our schools. Can Do! Community 5K & Fun Run Training Program! 
Join Noel Kosiek of Tri Grit and Kelly Starrett of MobilityWOD for a 5K training program to prepare you and your whole family for the 5K and Fun Run on October 15th.  There will be thorough warm-ups, expert running technique coaching, workout programming, and tons of fun all designed to get you fully ready to run the 5K.  

It's FREE with your Can Do! 5K, Fun Run Sign Up Adults & kids welcome! Space is limited to the FIRST 50 (but you must be registered for the Race in order to participate)

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

What is Run as One?

Run as One is part of the Can Do! Community 5K, Fun Run, and Festival. Run as One is about promoting a healthy lifestyle, getting out on the trails, and community building. There are two race distances – a timed 5K for runners of all ages and abilities and a Fun Run that is approximately 1 mile.

Do I have to have a family member currently in the Dixie School District to participate in the Run or Festival?

This is a fun, community event and we welcome all people in our community and surrounding areas to participate. 

What if I can’t make it to packet pick up?

Don’t stress, someone else can pick up the packet for you as long as they have your registration information. If you can’t pick it up the day before, please arrive an hour early on race day to pick up your race packet.

Can I bring my dog, cat, or pet lizard?

We love your pets, which is why they are not allowed. For the safety of your pet and others, please leave all pets at home. Service animals are allowed with paperwork of proof.

Can I run with a stroller?

Yes of course, we would love the entire community to participate.  For the safety of all runners, strollers will start in the back of the pack.

Can my child run without an adult?

For both the 5K Run and Fun Run, children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

What time should I arrive?

We recommend arriving between 30-45 minutes so you can stretch, warm up, or to find parking. Which leads us to the next question.

Where should I park?

There is no parking in the Miller Creek Middle School parking lot. You can park on the streets of the surrounding area. We suggest carpooling with friends if you are travelling from far or if you live in the area, please consider walking or biking to the event

Will there be a place to park my bike?

We will have the Miller Creek bike racks available for your bike.  Please make sure to lock up your bike.  We cannot be responsible for your bikes while you are at the race or festival.

Can family and friends come out and cheer me on?

We love supportive cheerleaders!! Our only request is that they stay off the actual running route for their safety and the safety of our runners.

What if it rains on race day?

As if rain will stop our runners? What could be more fun than running in the rain and getting a little mud on your shoes and legs?

How do I get into the festival?

If you are a registered runner, your registration fee includes entry into the family fun festival! How cool is that?

Last, do I need to run in order to go to the family festival?

If you are not a runner and just want to have fun at the family festival, the entrance fee is $20 for all-you-can-have FUN! Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.  Click here to buy tickets to the festival only.  

T-Shirt Cutoff Date

Only participants that register by September 25th are guaranteed a race t-shirt. Participants registering after this date will be eligible for a t-shirt on a first come, first served basis.

Start at the Miller Creek Middle School parking lot

The Fun Run will start at Miller Creek Middle School and traverses along a closed trail around the school. The course is approximately 1 mile.
Packet Pick-Up

BIB PICK-UP @ MILLER CREEK MIDDLE SCHOOL:  Bib and shirt pick-up will be available at the dates and times below.  We encourage you to come on Saturday morning to ensure a smooth start to our events on Race Day.

   > Saturday, October 14th: 8:00 AM- 10:00 AM

   > Sunday, October 15th (race day) 7:30 AM – 8:30 AM

Parking
