Run for NYCChildren - Charity Virtual 5k Walk/Run

Join us for the New York Center for Children's Charity Virtual 5k Walk/Run organized by the NYCC's Junior Board. This virtual 5k will take place on September 17-23, 2021. You can run/walk on any day and at any time during this period, anywhere you wish! All proceeds from this fundraising event will go to the NYCC. 
 
What is a virtual 5k?
A virtual 5k is a race that you can complete by running or walking 5k at any time and location during the event period. 
  
Why should I join?
All proceeds from the event will go to the NYCC and help fund the valuable therapy services, as well as the free tutoring, mentoring and extracurricular events, that the NYCC provides to victims of child abuse and their families. Plus, you will have fun logging some miles for a run/walk! 

How do I join?
Register here before September 16, 2021, 11:59 PM EST. The registration fee is $20 (plus $2.16 processing fees) per person. Additional donations are welcome and much appreciated.
If you would also like to buy a t-shirt for this event, please place an order here: https://kotisibuy.com/nycc. Note that it may take up to 3-4 weeks to receive the t-shirt for U.S. addresses, so please place an order in advance if you wish to wear the t-shirt during the virtual race/walk. 

Then what do I need to do? 
Any day/time on September 17-23, 2021, go run or walk 5k! You can do this anywhere outside or on a treadmill. You can time yourself manually or using a health fitness or run tracking app, such as Strava, Garmin, Nike Run Club, etc. You will have the option to upload your results to share them with the rest of the participants. You may also upload photos from your run/walk!

More About The New York Center for Children
For 26 years, The New York Center for Children has provided free, bilingual, trauma-focused, comprehensive evaluation and therapy services to victims of child abuse and their families, for as long as their healing requires. NYCC’s individual and group therapy services are offered in English and Spanish. In addition, we provide free tutoring, mentoring and extracurricular events. The Center’s services are offered in a child-friendly and welcoming environment. NYCC serves children from all five boroughs of New York City. NYCC is currently providing services remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic. NYCC is also a leader in training programs on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of child abuse, attended by professionals and graduate-level medical, psychology and social work students.
