The Paramedic Rayne Meyers Memorial Fund would like to announce the inaugural 5K “Run for Rayne” as well as a 1 mile “Little Bit of Rayne and Blaine” Fun Run on April 18, 2020. The Rayne Meyers Memorial Fund was established in 2019 in honor or Rayne Meyers, Paramedic for the Tribal EMS and for Harris EMS in Jackson Co., NC. We are also honoring Blaine Henderson, Paramedic for Harris EMS and Macon EMS, by raising money for scholarship assistance for students to fulfill their dreams of being paramedics like Rayne and Blaine were. With past fundraisers from our nonprofit organization, we have been fortunate enough to provide 3 students with financial assistance who are currently enrolled in the paramedic program at Cherokee Tribal EMS. It is our intention to continue fundraising and continue providing financial assistance to deserving paramedic students in our local communities as well as donations to local animal shelters, and suicide awareness programs.
The 5K run will provide awards for 1st place through 3rd place overall male and female winners as well at the 1st place through 3rd place male and female winners in each age groups: 11-14, 15-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, and 70 and older.
Both the 5K and 1 Mile run welcomes walkers, strollers, and pet friendly participants, though we ask that all pets be leashed and under owners control at all times.
The “Little Bit of Blaine” 1 mile run will be available for those 10 years of age and younger. Certificates will be given to 1st through 3rd place winners along with goodie bags.
We would like to thank Full Spectrum Farms for providing the hand crafted pottery that was especially made for this event for all winners!
