Salem Run for the Climate

August 03, 2019

The local climate action group 350 Salem and the youth environmental organization Plant for the Planet enthusiastically invite you to participate in the first 1st Salem Run For The Climate on August 25, 2018 at 9 am in Minto-Brown Island Park. The goal of our 5k walk/run is to bring community members together around the cause of climate change in an entirely new setting, with the hope of creating a positive, family-friendly walk/run through
which people can build community and have fun!

This run is a fundraiser for Plant for the Planet, a free, day-long Academy for all youth grades 4th through 12th and their families to make a difference on climate change. Since 2007, Plant for the Planet has empowered more than 55,000 children in 54 countries and planted more than 15 billion trees worldwide. Last fall we had our first educational academy with local youth in Salem and planted six trees in Salem’s Bush Park. Please help us get more youth involved in coming years in order to grow our impact!

Our registration fee is $30 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. The run will start at the covered shelter in Minto-Brown. Day-of registration will be cash only at the covered shelter. Please arrive early to hear announcements and check out our amazing raffle prizes. The raffle drawing will be at 10:15am and participants have to be present to win. All participants will also receive a free reusable goody bag after the run. Please note: this is not a timed run!
