As of mid-July, the Salt Springs Field, Forest & Falls Trail Race is still on! Format will be a rolling start with small groups taking off together to allow you to run with friends or family (it won’t matter which race you are running). Chip timing will capture start and finish times. We’re still working out some details regarding how long the start window will be (it will likely begin at 8 a.m. and run for an hour, give-or-take) and how many people will be allowed to start together. There will be NO awards ceremony and no post-race snacks; there may be food for purchase in an orderly and hygienic manner. One thing is for certain: You will be required to wear masks when picking up your bib and when standing within 6 feet of another person. And the courses will be WELL MARKED! If you register for either race and we are forced to cancel, you will be given the opportunity to defer to 2021, consider your entry fee a donation to the park or receive a refund (minus RunSignUp processing fee).
About the two courses: The 10K is a beast! If you are not comfortable with multiple stream crossings, loose descents and using your hands to scramble up steep spots, please consider racing the shorter course. The 5K offers a variety of terrain and is great for short-distance runners, new trail runners and kids. (You can transfer your registration with no penalty.) There is NO AID on either course, so carry your own fluids and nutrition. The trails are technical; the scenery is stunning. Race benefits Salt Springs Park.
