Share the Harvest 5K/Fun Run
for the Benefit of Community Kitchen Program, sponsored by Galilee Center of East Charlotte

Using food as a powerful tool, Community Kitchen Program in Charlotte gives everyone a chance. Servesafe certifies employees for the restaurant industry. Your participation in this event ensures the success of Community Kitchen Program offering a free 10-week training to members of the community along with our partner, Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC).
Community Kitchen Program is proud to offer entry fee scholarships for deserving youth in the community! Youth 14-18 years old may request a scholarship to pay for their race entry fee by submitting a request to [email protected] First place youth finishers (boys and girls first place) will also receive a gift certificate for a pair of running shoes.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Adults and teens over the age of 14 years old can participate in a timed 5K race.
Children 8-13 years old may register and run/walk the 1 mile course.
This is also a fun run/ walk. Everyone is welcome regardless of age.
WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH MY REGISTRATION?
Your registration includes the 2023 edition participant packet including a T-shirt, a race bib, RFID Shoe Tag and other event materials. The finishers will be receiving the 2023 edition medal. Top three girls and top three boys, age 14-18 will receive medals during award ceremony.
PACKET PICKUP
For pre-race packet pickup, you must have a photo I.D.
Friday, May 26th from 3-6 PM (3601 Central Ave, Charlotte NC, 28205)
Packets can also be picked up prior to the start of the race at McAlpine Creek Park from 7:30-8:30 am. Please let us know if you have any questions! Looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday morning! [email protected] or 2406784014 When you come to collect your race packet: Make sure that you have your photo I.D. with you; Do not forget to keep your tickets handy. Download them on your phone or print them out; Bring either a downloaded or printed ticket to your chosen location for event packet pick-up. Please note that to take part in the Share the Harvest,5K Race you must wear your race bib which will contain your RFID chip for timing purposes. WHERE ARE THE START AND FINISH AREAS? Start and Finish lines will be clearly marked as will be the course you will follow. Please look for race volunteers if you have any questions. WHAT CHARITY DO YOU SUPPORT? We are The Community Kitchen Program and our mission is to provide free culinary certification skills and education, along with workforce development to recent immigrants and other individuals who need a hand up to succeed. Our graduates work in the restaurant business as line cooks, servers and other skilled positions.
