About the event

The Singora Lake Swim 2023 event gives swimmers the opportunity to create a new legend by swimming across Songkhla Lake, as well as to appreciate the natural beauty and experience the community spirit in Hua Khao Subdistrict. This event is the only one of its kind in Thailand, and it has gained positive feedback from the athletes and tourists who have taken part in it. The organizers have also employed local fishing boats to transport the athletes and tourists across the lake. This is an innovative way of organizing outdoor sports events, and it offers a great opportunity to experience community-based tourism. Furthermore, the event will be held in March 12, 2023 and is expected to attract 800-1000 swimmers, both professional athletes and tourists. The main focus of the event is to provide economic benefits to the local community and to promote sustainable tourism.

The current was too strong at 8am when they started the race. No one was able to make it to the first buoy. Life boats picked up everyone and then the race was cancelled. Now, I'm no sailor, but I am pretty sure that the tides are something that are fairly predictable. Lack of planning ruined the race for all the people who traveled a long way to take part in what should have been a really exciting swimming race.
